Our Fuego firesteels are formulated with just the right amounts of iron and magnesium for strength, and an increased percentage of supergrade mischmetal alloyed from essential Rare Earth elements carefully proportioned to allow for outstanding and reliable pyrophoric properties. This perfect formula of iron, magnesium, and mischmetal results in a super reliable, easy-to-use firesteel capable of producing massive white-hot sparks of molten metal reaching temperatures at a scorching 3000° C.

Each Blackhawk Bushcraft Fuego is approximately 1/2" x 5" and comes prepared with a hand-made-by-us comfortable and grippy gutted paracord handle wrapped over silicon carbide for extremely durable retention, yet allowing for very easy removal of the paracord handle if needed. And because of its solid and stout size, the Fuego is easy to use with, or without gloves. The surface of each Fuego is protected for first use with a super thin, easy to remove black coating. Simply scrape through the super thin coating to access the firesteel beneath.

Discounted, slightly slimmer Fuego

Although the Fuego sizing is approximated at 1/2" x 5", we received a shipment of manufactured rods outside of what we felt was within the acceptable approximation to represent a 1/2" diameter sizing. These rods are closer to 7/16". As such, we are selling these discounted. These Fuegos are made from the same great formula as our 1/2" x 5" rods, just slightly slimmer by approx. 1/16"
